You just have to download the latest or any phpbb version you want there and then you have to
place it on server or any hosting you have.

phpBB.com is not a forum host. It is a forum software that works on server.

You need to download it (the php and other files) on your PC and then upload to your web hosting account. Then you need to run the installation and it will direct you Smile

Phpbb.com

You'll need cPanel. I have a forum that is hosted on Phpbb. You need to install Phpbb CUSTOMLY onto your cPanel.

A good tutorial i used, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jqHQQB1zno

Yes, but it is ForumotionBB and not actual phpBB.

I've created a phpbb forum for a client.

Pretty straightfoward I've found, except the client had me delete the forum (after I'd spent ages configuring it!) and install another forum via a wordpress plugin - which is pants compared to phpbb.

Oh well, the client is always right, so they say!
