Hi,

The <html> tag defines the beginning and end of an HTML document. The HTML page will work fine even if you don't put the <html> tag but if you are considering to create a site and use other languages like CSS, JavaScript and PHP with HTML, using the <html> tag is essential.

The <body> tag contains all the contents of the web page. It separates itself from the HEAD of the web page.
