With the ladybird shot, I would of shot it at a lower DoF, something like 2.8. And maybe gotten a little closer to the main subject, but not to close to lose background interest:)

DoF is how much of the picture is out of focus, this is controlled by adjusting your appature value, if your shooting in full-auto you will not have control over this. So switch to Appature Priority, and use a low number (known as f stops) f2.9 is a good starting point Smile
