This was asked by another member which was eventually locked because he didn't have template editing, so here I am posting for phpbb2 as I am interested in how this works.

What I would like is that when you click the users name it drops down a menu of links such as PM user, view profile.

I know it takes template editing and js just don't know the codes for it.

However this is not possible without template editing.

Hi blindbat1457,

First of all you need to find some javascript that suits your need for the drop down. Once you get that you need to add it to your templates and edit the way profile info looks.

Have you got the drop down script?

I don't know js...

Also how do you create a link that goes to users profile?

Every time I try to do it the database doesn't recognize the user as you have to have u=1 etc.

Suggestion, if your going to give infractions/warnings for double posts at least give users the option to delete their post.

We already give members to remove their post content. If you want, you can edit your post and delete the content. No need to completely delete it form database.

@Topic :
You can just make a google search for some javascript drop down scripts. You don't need to write the code yourself.

Well, that script is for menu. It is not flexible enough to apply to username click event.

It works just one thing it displays the images instead of text. Also is there a way that I can make it like the one in the original link where a box rolls down?

I been meaning to ask this on forumotion but lets say I wanted to create a link on the navbar that says "profile" and when you click on it, it goes to the users profile and not his/her settings.

Its not possible to show text instead of image since its is generated by the templates.

Alright that is fine but what if I delete the images? will it show up as text then?

You can't delete the images as the <img> tags are generated by templates.

Alright thanks for the help so far. Sorry to be a pain in the ass but I am going to be getting a domain and phpbb3 loaded up on the server so I can use the JS but would you be willing to help me out?
