XHTML is a more constant, pointed and innovative edition. This further presented the idea of labeling into the sites. While going through contemporary edition, most Term Media styles have been developed on XHTML rather then HTML. With the use of XHTML done in large across the web, it is crucial for customers, who are developing, modifying or planning their styles, to know the distinction between XHTML & HTML.

XHTML is "well-formed" HTML. The term "well-formed" comes from the rules regarding XML syntax in the fact that XML syntax is strict and must be correctly nested, attributes quoted and spaced apart etc.

XHTML is just HTML but with these strict syntax rules added in order to perform cleaner, more efficient mark up that more browsers can render, faster.

All languages have their "good practise" syntax rules, including HTML.

Hii luciamarry,

XHTML is a more stable, sharpened and sophisticated version as compared to html. <p> tag of HTML can be used for opening but not for closing. We have liberty in HTML to ignore validation of the code on the other hand this concept is wrong and the code would never validate in XHTML. In XHTML We have to close all the tags. In nested tags of XHTML closing should be done in the similar way in which opening was done. In short, XHTML is more strict in rules as compared to HTML. Enjoy

HTML, is an application of SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language)and allows an author to omit certain tags and use attribute minimization. The Extensible HyperText Markup Language, or XHTML, is an application of XML (Extensible Markup Language). It doesn’t permit the omission of any tags or the use of attribute minimization.

The most important difference between the HTML XHTML is that

HyperText Markup Language, or HTML, is an application of SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language)and allows an author to omit certain tags and use attribute minimization.

The Extensible HyperText Markup Language, or XHTML, is an application of XML (Extensible Markup Language). It doesn’t permit the omission of any tags or the use of attribute minimization.
