What are your views on splash pages? Would you rather go straight to the site's content, than go though a splash page?

I don't mind going to the splash page, but it should have the major nav links.

Splash pages generally create to impress the users. As per my view Splash pages are not good for SEO because some time it will take time to load so it will increase bounce rate of your website.

They should work well on first visit. After that visitors should have option to directly go to the home page instead of splash page. It can be done via JS cookies.
